The quote
No. The reach-out, the mockup, the on-site visit and the written quote are all free, and none of them commits you to anything. The quote is good for 15 days and it is yours to keep whether you go ahead or not.
An install date is agreed only once the written quote is in front of you, and it is confirmed before any money changes hands. There is no minimum job: a short run quotes its real arithmetic.
The visit
For the written number, yes. A permanent lighting quote depends on a roofline somebody has measured, the height of the eaves and where the power is, so the price is settled at a free on-site visit of about 45 minutes. The mockup and the arithmetic on your footage come before that, without a visit.
The visit is booked into staffed hours, Monday to Friday 8 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 2. October to December is the busy stretch of the year, so a visit booked in that window sits further out than the same visit booked in spring.
The reply
