A Leatherback installer on a ladder fixing the lighting channel under the eave of a house in daylight, with the finished run already visible along the fascia above him

From the first visit to the first scene

How permanent lighting gets installed in Colorado

It takes about two weeks from the day you say yes to the evening the house is lit. A free on-site visit of about 45 minutes produces a mockup of your own house and a written quote good for 15 days, the crew is on the roof one to three days depending on the size of the run, and everything is covered for five years afterwards. Timing may vary during peak season.

Four steps, in the order they happen, with what each one actually involves. The number is agreed in writing and the install date is confirmed before you put down a dollar.

  1. Step 1

    Free · about 45 minutes

    The free on-site visit

We measure the roofline, read your trim color, and draw the lighting onto a photograph of your own house. About 45 minutes. You keep the mockup either way.

The color reading is the part doing the most work. A Sherwin-Williams reader goes on your fascia and returns the exact paint ID, and the channel is painted that color in our own five station booth, in Sherwin-Williams Direct to Metal, which Sherwin-Williams warrants for 20 years, with the connectors printed to match. That is why the finished run reads as one line instead of a row of white joints.

The same visit measures what prices the job. Footage first, then difficulty: pitch, height, access, where the power has to come from, and what the crew has to stage to reach the run. Nothing about it is a hard sell, because a permanent lighting system is not something anyone buys off a doorstep pitch.

If your house sits in an association, this is also where the approval submission starts. We prepare that paperwork on your behalf rather than handing you a form, and the measured color match goes in with it, because a channel painted to your fascia is a different proposal from a strand of bulbs.

  2. Step 2

In writing · good for 15 days

    One all-in number, in writing

A written quote, good for 15 days, priced on difficulty and actual footage. We confirm an install date before you put down a dollar.

It is one number rather than a rate and a list of extras. The per-foot part covers the channel, the RGBW LEDs inside it, the color match to your trim and the labor to put it up. The Sentinel controller is added once at $345, and a motion sensor is priced at the visit if you want one, because the requirement varies by install.

There is no minimum job, so a short run is priced on its own arithmetic instead of being rounded up to a package. Financing runs through Wisetack with 0% options if you would rather spread it. You keep the quote and the mockup whether you buy or not, and the two weeks start when you say yes to that number, not when you first call.

  3. Step 3

    One to three days

    Install day

The crew is on the roof one to three days, depending on how much there is and whether you are doing the front only or the full package with porches and patios. Channel color matched, wiring hidden, yard clean. We set up your first scenes with you before we leave.

Clean means every clip, offcut and cord cleared, so nothing is left in a walkway. The channel mounts up under the eave rather than out on the open roof, which is the same reason hail has never damaged an installed run of ours across several Front Range seasons.

Our own installers do the work almost all of the year. At the October to December peak we bring in trusted subcontractors to keep install dates, and they carry the same workers' comp requirement before they set foot on a roof. Where one does not carry their own, we cover them under ours, so there is never a crew on your property outside a policy. Lead times stretch through that window, so timing may vary during peak season.

  4. Step 4

Five years of cover, then still yours

It is lit, and we look after it

A five year warranty on everything, with an optional lifetime LED upgrade. You own the system outright, it transfers with the house, and there is no app or cloud fee.

Five years means labor as well as parts: the LEDs, the channel, the controller and the wiring, with free service visits inside those five years. If something does go out, the published policy is a follow-up within 24 hours and a repair the same day or the next wherever we can manage it, with a text before a technician comes to the property.

The scenes and the schedule are held on the controller rather than in a cloud account, so the house runs from your phone with nothing to subscribe to. Warm white on an ordinary evening, your team colors on game day, and whatever December needs, without anyone back on the roof.

    What the warranty covers

Before you book

Four questions about the process.

The calendar

How long does the whole thing take, from yes to lit?

About two weeks, counted from the day you accept the written quote rather than from the first phone call. The visit that produces that quote takes about 45 minutes, the quote then stays good for 15 days while you decide, and the install itself is one to three days on the roof, depending on how much there is and whether you are doing the front only or the full package with porches and patios. Timing may vary during peak season.

The calendar matters more here than the clock. Lead times stretch through the October to December peak, which is when our own crew is joined by trusted subcontractors to keep install dates, so a date inside that window is harder to come by than one outside it. Whatever the wait turns out to be, the install date is confirmed before you put down a dollar, so you know it before you pay.

The visit

What happens at the free on-site visit?

Three things, in about 45 minutes. We measure the roofline, read the trim color straight off your fascia with a Sherwin-Williams reader, and draw the lighting onto a photograph of your own house. You keep that mockup whether you buy or not, and the written quote that follows it is good for 15 days.

Each of the three decides something. The measurement decides the footage, the difficulty of the roof decides the rest of the number, and the paint ID decides what color the channel is sprayed before it ever reaches the house. If you are in an association, the visit is also where the approval submission starts, because that measured color match is the detail that usually settles it.

Install day

What do I have to do on install day?

Very little, because the decisions were made before it. The crew mounts the channel, hides the wiring and clears every clip, offcut and cord before leaving. The one part of the day that involves you comes at the end, when your first scenes are programmed with you.

Pitch, height, access and where the power has to come from are all worked out at the on-site visit, and the date is agreed before you pay anything, so install day is a crew carrying out a plan that is already settled. If the job is a commercial building rather than a house, bring the hours you cannot have a crew on site to that visit, because the day gets set there.

Afterwards

What happens after it is installed?

You own the system outright from that evening, with no lease, no subscription and no monthly fee, and the five years of cover start the same day. The scenes and the schedule sit on the controller rather than in a cloud account, so the house runs from your phone. If you sell, the system goes with the house.

Cover means everything, labor included: the LEDs, the channel, the controller and the wiring, with free service visits inside the five years and an optional lifetime LED upgrade on top of them. An outage gets a follow-up within 24 hours and a repair the same day or the next wherever we can manage it, and you get a text before a technician comes to the property.

The number behind step 2

What the four steps cost.

The every day price is $25.00 a foot installed.

The Sentinel controller, our own smart controller, is $345. The cost page carries the per-foot breakdown and a calculator you can run against your own roofline before anyone comes out.

Step one is free, and takes about 45 minutes.

You keep the mockup of your own house and the written quote whether you buy or not.
